Dear lazyweb, what is a sensible policy for data retention on old payslips & bank statements? I have some from 2001 here...

For the UK, my statement of record is my tax return, I am PAYE and I keep these and the vouchers including payslips & the P60 (or at least the period 12 payslip) for seven years. I get rid of bank statements somewhere between 2 & 3 years.
